Utility locating
We find buried cables, pipes, drains, and other services that are in the ground before you dig, keeping you safe.
Ground-penetrating radar
Ground-penetrating radar can be used to find plastic pipes and non-conductive services such as drains. We can also conduct gridded GPR surveys for locating targets such as sinkholes and buried tanks.
Site survey/mapping
Utility maps and maps of worksites can be provided in CAD or GIS formats as needed.
After-hours
After hours locating is available upon request.

Ballarat Locating Services is a CertLoc Certified Locating Organisation and is a member of the National Utility Locating Contractors Association of Australia Ltd (NULCA). We are fully insured, compliant with CertLoc requirements and the requirements of all buried asset owners (such as Telstra, Optus, and VicTrack). If you need a copy of our insurance certificates, please ask.
We have experience working with larger organisations that may require onboarding procedures and paperwork (such as local councils or multi-national companies).
We are also certified/licensed to work inside the rail corridor (we hold Rail Industry Worker cards with category 1 medical assessments for our staff).

Operating Hours
Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm. Saturdays 7:30 to 5pm. Sundays 9am to 5pm. Work on weekends or after-hours by appointment only. Available for telephone calls on weekends without prior arrangement.
